No errors. I just can not find / connect to the secondary PC
Ok... What were the results after following this?

followed the instructions - no go
the multiplicity icon in my primary reads disconnected
when checking secondary connection - receive error message about firewall
using wi-fi. changed profile to Private - no go
disabled firewall - no go
Can you ping the Secondary from the Primary?
yes
Almost without exception, when a MP primary cannot see a Secondary, its that they are not on the same subnet or a firewall issue on one or each.
If at all possible, please try them wired via Ethernet and follow the connection troubleshooting closely:

My laptop Thinkpad X1 does not have ethernet only wifi. so the product is useless for my computing platform ad the primary and secondary are on different subnets. By the way this is a very common configuration in my business environment.
The the only way it will work if if you use a VPN to bridge them - getting them on a common / shared subnet.

how would that work?
Each PC would make a VPN connection that puts them on the same subnet.
unfortunately, that is not an option for my current IT environment.
works now using the ethernet connection. no wifis
case closed.
