How do I get a clean screen

Since updating fences, when I scroll to a new screen with a newly created fence, it also includes all of the icons that are part of the general desktop not in a fence. How do I get a completely clean screen so I can deal with only one project per screen as happened by default in the previous version. thank you.

Version 3.0.9.11...... I use Windows 7 Pro. I have maybe 4 windows right now. In my earlier version of Fences, my general icons were on page one, but if I dragged a new screen onto the desktop, those general icons were still on page one only and the new screen was completely clean except for the New Fence I dragged there or created there.
What I am looking for is exactly the way my earlier version worked so that the general icons do not transfer over to any new screens I create. Thanks much.

The word 'screen' does not have meaning to me here. Do you mean 'desktop pages' in Fences?

Anyway, per the moderator suggestion, I purged and reinstalled and now everything is working like I want it to. thank you.
I spoke too soon. Having the same problem after reinstallation. All of the icons from the desktop transfer over when I drag a new desktop onto the screen.
This is the problem I still have. On Desktop number one...the primary desktop....if icons are either in a fence (as opposed to a portal) or are freestanding (so to speak), if I drag a fence or portal to a new desktop, all of the icons that are on the original desktop show up on the new desktop, except for those icons which are in a portal........this creates a cluttered effect which I am trying to avoid.....a clean desktop where I can work on individual projects is what I want.

What you are detailing does not sound like Fences Pages, rather, Windows Virtual Desktops
That feature would preserver the icons (and Fences).
