Can Multplicity work across a Router on a local network?

I have PC's in two different IP ranges. The Primary PC is in 10. and other PC's are in 192.

I have a router and I can access the other PC with RDP and file share so there are no issues with firewalls. However, Multiplicity gets an error message that the passcodes don't match. When I try it on PC's with the same IP subnet it works fine.  Before I do a bunch of troubleshooting, can Multiplicity even work with this architecture?

Thanks

End of quote

I am gussing the question is really 'Can MP work across subnets'

In an answer, no, not without a bridge to the other network - a VPN connection to alt network, for example.
