Temporary Expand Fence

Perhaps I've overlooked it (or an equivalent solution), but I would greatly appreciate a way to temporarily expand a fence. Let me explain:

I'm a long time Fences user, from the early days, and I really like Fences. I've also tended to retain PCs and gradually upgrade them rather than replacing them.

Early on, those PC desktops started with a handful of icons/short-cuts in each of several fairly small fences. Over time, as more programs were added to the system, there were more icons, and rather than making the fences much bigger (and taking over more of the valuable desk space), I took advantage of the scrolling option. Initially fine, but I needed a couple more categories/fences, so the existing fences had to be shrunk to organize them on the desktop, and thus additional scrolling. And with subsequently added programs, more scrolling, ... a lot more scrolling.

Finally, I was getting to the point where I was giving up on the long scrolls (often missing the icon I was searching for), so I would instead double-click on the desktop to get at the fence size handles, and just drag out the particular fence so I could see all the icons without scrolling. Having found the desired program, I would start it, and then resize the fence back to its original size and location (and not always successfully), and again double click on the desktop to hide excess icons.

I went through this process repeatedly, frequently. It started getting 'old', and frustrating. If only there was a way to, say, double-click on a fence header to expand the fence to a size that shows all the  icons without scrolling, and then a second double-click on that same header to send it back to its original size and position, it would save loads of frustration and effort.

Really enjoy and appreciate Fences, but ...

Thoughts, ideas?

Regards,

Ron
