1.12 RC Issues

Some issue I have run into with Groupy (1.12 RC)

  •  Save as a group and try to re-load group
    • Does not seem to properly handle word 2016 paths that are a URL to SharePoint files where the URL has spaces in it (i.e. https://site.sharepoint.com/sites/test/Has Guide/doc - test.docx)
    • OneNote 2016 notebooks group but on re-load they are not grouped - also does not open the correct notebook and page
  • Would love it to also minimize the group as a single icon so it is easy to minimize and find to re-open
  • I often have multiple OneNote, Word, and Excel files open for different projects and this almost meets my workflow except for these issues

Thanks

Update - if I replace the spaces on the filename with %20 in the groupy file then this fixes the URL issue

With regards to the OneNote issue, this not a bug.

Groupy can only remember documents in a group if the application exposes a way to determine what is open.  This is only true of Explorer, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

You could in theory modify the saved groupy file to point it to the document in question, but Groupy itself cannot determine this information.
