icons in some of the fences have disappeared and the files/folders have disappeared from the computer as well. Now if I put a file in one of the empty fences, it is "swallowed".
Have you tried reinstalling Fences? I'm not sure which version of Windows you're running, but a few other have had issues with the latest Windows update messing with things.
