No bass when sharing audio

So far I really like Multiplicity but when sharing audio from my laptop to my stationary computer there is no bass or low-range tones. It's worth mentioning that I got a 5.1 system on my primary and I bet that it's a 2.0 on the laptop. Is there anything that can be done to fix this?
