Desktop icons on a hiden bar?

Im a bit new at the Desktop X and ect. Im looking for a object or a bar of some sort to put icons on/in that I use regularly, so that I can click on and the it will disappear once I have selected my program or file..

Any help?

You can use the autohide function in both Object Bar and Object Dock.

Object bar actually has invisible ones that you can call up with keystrokes. They appear under your pointer when you call them and go away after you use them.

Or you can use tab launchpad, or keyboard launchpad (which would do away with the need for an icon altogether).

What would be a good one for an "Object bar actually has invisible ones that you can call up with keystrokes."

I think there must be one made already, I don't know the name though. The one I started using came with the first premium suite. Frogboy made it and I thought it was Outstanding. You can, however, make your own using the hotkey tab of the Object bar configuration utility. Later, when I have time, I will look through the OB library to see if I can find the one I am thinking of.

Below it is a screenshot of one of the bars.

Strange thing happened with OB when I opened the config utility...

It combined two WBs!

I couldn't find exactly the one I thought I could find. There are some points that might help you make your own though.

Along the top, under theme tools, select theme options. Make sure the radio box that says convert the current windowblinds for use in this theme is checked. That will apply whatever windowblind skin you are using to the OB.

In the sizing and positioning tab, make sure you select do not dock to any edge.

The rest is stuff you can play around with.
