Well MadIce, I can see that if this is a new system, all downloads are not being counted. Even in the expanded top download section everything isn't being reflected by download count. Looks to me like ithey are using some form of date cutoff and not officially counting everything. Just a guess.

So what did they do. Not count everybodies downloads and double Mormegils?

It seems they are testing a special routine to favor your skins, WOM.

I tried to tell them, but they wouldn't listen.

Moremgil's DLs went up because his skin was featured in skincast.

Previously skincast downloads didn't count which was a bit of a bummer for the skin author since it actually robbed them of a lot of downloads.

The skincast download changes pretty regularly, it's base don the most recently featured WB skin here.

I hate to sound ignorant, but what is shincast? Maybe I missed something while I was away.

Mike, Skincast is the featured WindowBlind that is in the WindowBlind list in the appearance tab of Display Properties. It might be in the main WindowBlind Dialog itself, I don't know . Any way, on the list you will see SkinCast. When you click on it a little window will open showing a pic of the featured WindowBlind. Choose to apply it and it will do just that.

I don't know where those numbers I see today, Sunday, May 04, 2003 are comming from

I personally think it''s nice to see new names up there for a change.

stupid edit msg... it has a problem with me editing I see. Why is it that everytime I type "it's" it gives me a "it''s" after I submit?!?

Hey, it did that to me too yesterday! At first I thought it was me, but when I did some test posts I realized that somehow the board was turning apostrophes into quotes.

Skincast I found. Right click on your desktop and select appearances. Then look an your windowblinds and it will be listed at the top of the list.

Yesterday I was led to believe because Mormegil was on the skincast that was why he had twice the count everyone else had, even though everyone else's count was lower than what they had.

Yesterday Zero was skincast and he had about 600 downloads on his skin and he isn't listed on the top authors list.

So I ask again what is going on, how are the totals being derived.

I'am not comlpaining, just trying to figure out this new system which no one wants to explain. But I can see hou it will change daily if all downloads arn't counted.

The method is not final yet. Things are being tested out. Skincast was first included, then seeing that it was favoring way too much the featured skin, it was then removed. I suggest you ignore the top author's list for a few days, until something final is decided upon.

Why not Elfkura, but with which method?
