Reasons Why I Like Myself

This is about me, not men

Well, I felt a need to add a list of my very own. I apologize for the confusion I made with my last article (44 reasons, or how ever many they were). I labeled it incorrectly. I started a short list in my diary that I expanded online, and in my diary I named it "Reasons why guys should find me attractive." Sorry about the confusion. The following is a list of reasons why I like myself, because I DON'T rate myself the same way as I feel men would rate me, in the previous article. Does that make sense?? Here goes!

Reasons why I like myself:

1. I'm a good writer
2. I'm honest
3. I'm funny
4. I'm very intelligent
5. I recognize the good in me
6. I don't care what others may think of me
7. I'm going to college to get a higher education (I really like this about myself)
8. I can hold a job
9. I am good with money
10. I know what looks good on me, and don't try to over-skankify my image
11. I eat healthy
12. I am lively
13. I am extremely philosophical and love to talk about thoughts and ideas
14. I'm a really good artist (in my eyes)
15. I'm a good singer and I appreciate music
16. I have wonderful poems
17. I'm good at expressing my feelings through writing

Theres more, I just have to get ready for class. So I'll edit this later

Wow, I can't beleive that you and I have so much in common. I write poems and songs. I'm also an artist and I sing too. I'm very good with money (when I get it, lol) See? I'm even funny too. You can read some of my other blogs to see more on my sense of humor. I'm honest and pretty intelligent. Never went to college though. All my intelligence is just natural I guess. I did finish high school. Hmm.. I wonder if you are an Aquarius like me? GCJ

You have to like writing to be on JoeUser.com ~chuckles~ The duality of the universe is a funny thing and balance is extremely hard to find and maintain for most. People cannot do anyone any good if they don't like themselves, and at the same time, if a person will not like, help and forgive others then how can they like themselves? :0)

"He who is slow to believe in anything and everything is of great understanding, for the belief in one false principle is the beginning of all unwisdom."

Thats much better Anne... before we can really love or be loved by anyone else, we must truely be comfortable with ourselves.

Sounds remarkably familiar to me as well. But what strikes me as particularly valuable is number five, because frankly I see hundreds of intelligent people everday, and fabulous musicians, and even wonderful artists, but what the world lacks is confidence. Society today- tell me if I get too dreary- looks down on those who accept themselves for their strengths, and condone those who look love themselves for their weakness. I mean don't get me wrong, I don't hate fat people or even dislike them, but it doesn't strike me as a thing to be proud of. To each his own, though... (note male cheuvenism)

But here's a good question: do you always feel that way? Is your confidence something that fills you with passion one moment and leaves you an empty husk the next? I know that with me, it is a curious mixture of the two. During my more cheerful episodes, I find myself incredibly confident and at times able to settle into a revelry of my competance, as odd as that sounds; however, during my depressed moments (which are many though not oppressively so) that confidence boils into determination. It is still confidence, I suppose, but less of "I can do anything" and more of "I can overcome anything". I hope you know what I mean because it's beyond me to express it better past midnight:)

It's comforting to know there are others like us in the world, and that being special does not condemn us the way it sometimes feels. Take it easy.
