Multiple Deskops

What is the best way to get multiple desktops? It appears (from screenshots) that some people have that option? I'm looking for something like one finds in unix/linux.

Microsoft's PowerToys for WindowsXP includes a virtual desktop manager. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

There is also a virtual desktop manager on Object Desktop, if you're a subscriber.

the screenshots you saw are probably LiteStep or HoverDesk screenshots.

if you have a high-end system have a look at dvwm http://www.shellfront.org/utils/ . beautiful as it takes snapshots of your desktop as the Enlightenment pager, but obviously cpu-hungry.

an other free alternative is Desktop Manager http://www3.nf.sympatico.ca/byronm/dm.html functional, but rather fugly as the Object Desktop bandvwm.

I use Alt-Desk by AstonShell. It works very, very well and it's totally skinnable.
