How do I take a picture of my Desktop?

I know it has something to do with the PrtScn button. But when I hit it nothing happens. Is there something I'm missing?

Hit PrtScn, then launch MS Paint. Then from MS Paint's Edit menu, select Paste. That'll paste the screenshot into MS Paint

Get your digital camera, aim it at your screen, and press the button.

Seriously, when you press the Print Screen button, all it does is copy the screenshot in the clipboard. From there you need to paste it somewhere. You can paste it in a Word document, in a Photoshop document, in a Paint document, anything that allows you to paste BMPs.

save it as jpg file so it wont be too big (the file size not the picture size)
