hot keys

I've purchased and installed desktop x and use winstyles quite often. My question is: now that I'm using this product, my hotkeys will not work. I have a Toshiba Satellite notebook. I need my hotkeys to change the brightness and other setting on my computer. I've tried to reset the defaults on the hotkeys but nothing works. Any suggestions?

once again, I'll ask: Is there anyway to override object bar's hotkey function and restore my own system's hotkey functions?

um, reading over this i am a bit confused.

last time i looked (a while ago) there was no way to make DesktopX respond to hotkeys. i know, since that was one of my main complaints about it

as for ObjectBar, about the only hotkeys it responds to by default are "windows key" and "windows key + tab", both of which can be disabled if you want.

can you provide a bit more info? specifically, OS, which program, program version, and which hot keys no longer work. also, which themes you are using for DesktopX and ObjectBar.

have you tried unloading both DesktopX and ObjectBar? if so, and it makes no difference, then i would suggest that they are not causing the problem.

if that doesnt help, set them to no longer load on startup, and reboot. that should make sure they are cleared out of memory. if you still have the problem, then perhaps it is something else that is causing the problem.

if you disable all hot keys in OB and reset your original hot keys it should take. As I remember you might have to reset several times and even re-boot, but it should restore them

The problem is the way that Toshiba Satellites hook things. It's their touchpad drivers that do that, and there is no work around for it. They are the only ones that have that problem. You may want to contact Toshiba about it since they are the only ones who do this.

If you unload ObjectBar, you shouldn't have a problem (it has nothing to do with DesktopX).

Depending on the drivers, their mouse hooks may effect WindowBlinds, too. It's their touchpad drivers that are causing this behavior.
