Transparency - Command Prompt?

I have been somewhat successfull trying to make some windows transparent. My
main goal is to get a transparent background for my command prompt.
What should I look into? Is this possible using windowblinds or
perhaps WindowFX?

TIA

Try using the WB skin Alien Technology. It has buttons on the lower right corner which will allow a range of transparency from invisible to opaque.

Powered by SkinBrowser!

a more elegant look can be done if you are not using the windows command prompt, but this replacement: http://sourceforge.net/projects/console/
Console has plenty of options including different levels of transparency for active and inactive states, colors, etc.

limitations? what kind, it´s actually far more flexible than the default Windows command prompt. have a look at the documentation, that will help.
there is a Console codefork available here http://www.lokai.net , it has different features as drop shadows under the text for example.
an other console with features that are closer to a *NIX terminal (multiple consoles, transparency to the desktop, etc.) is dterm. also available, but a little outdated (but works on Win9x) is eConsole. both are available here: http://www.shellfront.org/utils/
