Fences 3 Lags desktop slightly

Hi, I have been having an issue where on my new monitor (2560x1440p) having fences enabled makes my desktop lag a bit, like it takes several seconds to hide when i double click, it takes a second for an icon to move after i click it, etc. I'm running windows 10 with fences 3.0. Anybody know a solution to this issue? If it's just the nature of having a high resolution monitor, it's certainly liveable, just not idea.
