Licensing questions for Fences 3.0.3

Behind proxy, number of licenses

Dear Stardock-Team,

we want to use Fences 3.0.3 on our 20 test computers. Each test computer has three operating systems installed in a multiboot environment (Windows 7, 10 and Server 2016). I wanted to test Fences on a prototype computer with the previously mentioned three operating systems.

Unfortunatelly it is quite complicated to register. I have successfully registered my private copy on my working computer and worked with it. Now I am trying to register Fences on the prototype Windows 7 operating system. We are behind a Proxy server, so I tried to use the same offline files I used for my working computer. This does not work.

Before I continue to evaluate Fences I have the following questions:

1. How many licenses do I need for licensing Fences 3.0.3 correctly: 20 test computers with 3 operating systems per computer. Are 20 licenses enough? Please regard that only one OS is operable at once.

2. Is there a step by step guide for registering such a multi licensing environment?

I am looking forward to your answer.

Best wishes

Frank

For personal computers you are allowed 5 installations.

For work and commercial it is 1 per PC.

I would suggest taking a look at our corporate page.

Dear Island Dog,

thank you very much for the fast reply. I have verified the given sources carefully. Unfortunatelly it is hard to imagine, how many licenses we need and how to install them.

According to the EULA we have to use one license per PC. We create a prototype machine. On this machine we will install Fences on every operating system and register it to license it. Then we will make a sysprep image of this prototype an spread it on the other 19 computers. Do we have to register Fences on the syspreped computers anew? Or is Fences still licensed?

Looking forward to your answer.

Best wishes

Frank
