Win 10 default icons not restored

Installed (free) IconPackager 5.10.

Tried an icon package, didn't like it.

Restored  default Win 10 icons, but not all are restored.

Uninstalled IP 5.10, problem persisted.

Rebuilt default icons for Win 10, didn't change default folder icons back to "normal".

Re-installed IP 5.10.

Tried another icon package and then back to default.

Still did not put my desktop file folder icons back to original.

Any ideas?

Where did you download IconPackager 5.1 from?

Icon Packager 5.x is not designed for Windows 10 and should not have been used on that OS.  The installer should have told you the OS was unsupported.

Only IconPackager 10 works on Windows 10.  There is a 30 day trial of that too (like the IP5 you used)

Do not remember where I downloaded it from. Thought it was from Stardock. In either case, neither installation warned about the OS incompatibility. Finally had to do an image restore to get things back to normal. It even took icons from certain other programs and destroyed/deleted/removed them. Just thankful that I have daily images run as a backup for disasters. If I'm not mistaken, it was from this site, but I couldn't swear to it;
