Icons frozen

from Stardock Forums

When I install the regular fences or the fences pro the shortcut icons on the screen become frozen and unmovable. I can make a fence but can't put anything in it. If I uninstall fences the icons are movable again.

I am running Win10 on an HP laptop.

A strange thing is this. Last week I bought a dell laptop with Win10 and had no problem putting icons in he fences. Unfortunately, the dell was malfunctioning in other ways and I returned it. I bought the HP laptop this week and now fences won't work.

 

I had installed Start10 in both of the systems because I'm more comfortable with Win7.

I use dozens of short cuts and fences has been wonderful giving me an uncluttered work space.

I've read several posts in this forum about this issue and tried the various solutions (ie turn off tablet mode, remove 360 antivirus software etc.) but nothing has worked.

Is there anything fix for this?

Please help.

What version of Fences are you using?

I down loaded the most recent versions of Fences and Fences Pro.

 

The HP and Dell had the same configurations. Both with I-5 processor and 8 gig memory.

The only differences were the Dell had a non touch screen and used Win10 pro.

The HP has a touch screen and uses Win10 home.

There's only one version of Fences, and it's currently at v3.03.

that is interesting. But why do they advertise Fences and Fences Pro?

And There is a Fences and a Fences Pro listed next to each other in my directory.

And how does this comment help my problem?

Fences Pro is a very old version of Fences.  Where is it being advertised?

The latest version is Fences 3.03.

The use of Fences Pro, Fences 1 or older versions of Fences 2 on Windows 10 is not supported and will cause frozen desktop icons along with other issues.  Fences 3 should not have this problem.

No. I can"t. I Tried but There is only Fences 3 advertised.

I downloaded Fences 3 and voila. It worked!!
