Got a question

Ok, now this deals with Graphics. But also deals with Deviant Art. I decided to ask over here instead of DA since I feel closer to you peeps.

I got a question for those that have posted or know the info on this. I need to know what catagory this project would fall under since they removed it from under Wallpaper-3D. They said that it didn't belong under there. Here is the link.

I managed to get it to stay under Wallpaper-Abstract but I don't feel like it belongs there plus it's not getting as many views as it did in a day under the other catagory.

If you can help me I would appreciate it.

It's a bit too flat to be considered 3D, Weaksid...
However, I'm surprised that they even bothered to worry about niggling details...
It's obviously abstract and more 2D than not...
I wouldn't worry about it.

O', here is another one I did. But I didnt' try to add this to the wallpaper list here. I tried the previous and didn't make it. I might give up on wallpapers on here. I'm going to make a list of all the progs that can be skinned and go through each one and try making something for each one. Something like a checklist. It's a idea. Then I'll definally try to earn a title as "multi-talented person"

You could probably turn this one into a Logon, however it has an unfinished look to me...
The black box in the center just doesn't have enough definition.
I don't like to critique other people's work but I think you could do something with this one as a Logon screen.

Also, one thing I've learned is that small previews are a no-no....
You've really got to show a larger preview for someone to get an honest opinion of whether they like it or not.

Like a 800x600 preview instead of half of that? or should I go for the 1024x768? I think if I change it I'll be making a 1280x1024 one also.

I never thought of turning it into a logon. That's a nice idea.

I'll also see what I can do with the cube.

400x300 is the problem. Try uploading the full size version only - DA creates the preview for you.

It's a little flat idd, (the first one) the "feeling" that it is flat is because the rings around it aren't solid. You should try that.
Not sure about this but try to make 1 big one in stead of 3/4 little ones, with more detail its more 3d...

About the 2e one: Verry nice, however not really 3d. If you pay a bit attention you can see that the cube is 3d, but because of the black collour and the little light you don't really notice.
The enviroment where it is in looks like it is motionblured. Like the cube is traveling. This effect looks like photoshop and dasn't make it 3d eather.
HOWEVER: it is a REALLY nice wall, just keep going with walls, practise makes master.

O', the first one to tell you how I did it. It's actually in a cube that reflects. That's the way I got the multi effect. But I'll play with both on the suggestions that you've gave me and see what I can come up with. Thanks.

I got to say thanks for the help. I realized what some people are looking for and what can take away if you add. Because for that version 2 for not even a whole day yet I got -> 4 comments, 42 downloads, 55 views.... That's like way more then I normally get in a day.

I'm going to see what I can do with the "Glowing Cube" project next. And thanks again for the help.

Yeah, that looks really better, It sure is more 3d, and also it looks like it has a tinn layer of smoke over it, looks really nice!
What you see with a lot of people here is that they add some "tech" stuff on it, (little stripes, dots, cubes like this:https://www.wincustomize.com/window.asp?Cmd=PREVIEW&source=http://skins.stardock.com/daemonium/wallpapers/biometrique.jpg)
that should finish it... If you would do some filters over it in photoshop or something it could become 'killer', just mess arround with it

Thanks, I'll look into trying to add something like that after I get this glowing cube thing done. My computer has crashed several times while rendering. So I had to keep restarting from the beginning on the new edits or at 10%. I managed to keep it at 80% now. I really need another computer just used to render and do other tasks. But I would need a new line from the box for power. But before that need a new line from the pole to the house. So my parents said it would be a while. I'm just in a tight spot. I just can't do much if I'm rendering. O'well, I'll have it done soon and I'll add the link.
