3 Questions about WindowBlinds 4, from an eager GalCiv MODer.

Three Questions:

I tried WB 3.* and liked it but it was just a little too slow. I am on the fence about WB4. From your expieriences is WB4 mcuh faster, or to put it another way wouldn't slow the UI noticably? 1.2 Gig Hz - 512 mem - G4 ti 4600.

Am I correct that with almost all skins made with WB4 functions I will be able to change the over all color of the skin to my own choice of color and saturation? Prime II for instance impressed me. Certain colors life my mood.

I would be using WB4 on a computer that will soon be without an internet connection. Will I be able to download skins and components on another computer system, without WB4 being installed on that particular machine? I would be glad to punch in a user # or my Stardock account ID.

This GalCiv MODer thanks you in advance.

1. WB4 is faster, no doubt about that. The speed of WB has a lot to do with how well the skin is desgined too. If the skinner has spent the time optimizing it for speed then it's quite resonable to expect near Windows Classic performance and definately faster than WinXP native skinning. Unfortunately a lot of skins are not optimised at all.

2. Changing the skin colouring is something that skinner has to provide for. You can force colouring (of skins without colouring support) but results may be less than impressive.

3. WindowBlinds skins are files like any other, so yes they can be downloaded from any computer anywhere. Transfer them to you computer via whatever means you desire then double click them there and they will install.
