Is Multiplicity the most frustrating, infuriating, rage inducing software ever? Maybe...
So I have Multiplicity Pro (v 3.41 Build 00078) connecting two Windows 10 x64 systems, the primary a desktop with Windows 10 Pro, the secondary a Dell Latitude E7470 laptop with Windows 10 Enterprise, connected to a Dell dock. When Multiplicity works correctly, it is fine. It's central to how I use my computers (couldn't be much more central - I literally can't use the mouse and keyboard on one computer without it).
The process of getting Multiplicity setup and working was just a little frustrating. It's all been downhill from there.
Every time - literally every time - I remove the laptop from the dock and then reconnect it, Multiplicity fails to reconnect. Idiotically, the reason it gives for failing to reconnect is that the passcode is incorrect. I never change the passcode. Ever. Then I reboot the laptop (sometimes twice), and it reconnects. So I'm changing literally nothing on Multiplicity (on either system) and it works fine, then doesn't work, then works. My passcode, by the way, is MultiplicityIsFrustrating. Seriously.
So that's bad enough, but when I simply start up the desktop and laptop in the morning Multiplicity fails to connect about 1/4 of the time. No explanation. Literally nothing ever changes. Both systems have static IP addresses. Both are connected to the same network switch. Firewalls are off on both systems. And yet with nothing changing, Multiplicity just decides to torture me.
I previously used Synergy years ago (flakey) and KavoomKM (much more reliable than Multiplicity, but copy/paste was terrible, and often had to log in to secondary machine before it would connect).
I. Hate. Multiplicity.
And I'm betting I'm not alone. Any suggestions on how to improve this?
