Downloads to dekstop going to secondary monitor

I have dual monitors, with the following config:

Whenever I download a file, like in Chrome, and target the desktop. The file ends up in the upper left corner of monitor 2, instead of in the first available position of monitor 1. Is there any way to change/fix this behavior?

Is Monitor 2 set as the primary?

What happens if you create a fence called "Downloaded" and set all new icons to go to that?

Nevermind, found it.

1 is set as primary. I'm on Windows 10 using latest version of Fences.

Edit:

Creating a fence on monitor #1 and setting new icons to go to it works, but doesn't really fit my needs. I have a desktop page for personal stuff and one for work. Even using a time-based rule doesn't still means I'm going to be more likely to have to spend time moving files around. I bought Fences 99% for the Desktop Pages functions, not the actual Fences.

I've noticed the same problem.

Once and awhile when I install a new program I notice the icon gets put on a totally different monitor.   Like somehow windows (or fences) loses track of which monitor is the "Main display".  Yes, I have the correct monitor set to be the main display.    Win10 anniversary,  Fences 3.03, but I believe it has been happening for several versions of fences and windows.

It may have something to do with how my monitors sleep and wake with different amounts of time to wake up...  Regular open program windows end up all over the place, its very annoying.

Icons are all usually brought back to the right monitor by fences.   This is a great app for control over that!

I just tested again - I installed this app, and told it to create a desktop icon:

My main monitor is set correctly, but the new icon was not placed on the main monitor desktop. (I dont want it in a fence, just out in the open so I can catagorize it later)

I have noticed this problem as well. My secondary monitor is placed left of my primary one, and I only have fences on the secondary, while I use the main desktop for misc files I only have on my desktop temporarily, which is why I want them to go there and I don't want to create a fence for them. This is really a letdown because I just got the pro version now and the older free version did not have this issue.

We need an option to choose which monitor new icons are placed on!

To make matters worse, I tried to go back to the previous version I was using (1.01) and now when I start windows I get the message that Fences was possibly not loaded correctly and may have to be re-installed, but it works fine. The message pop-up is annoying, though.

I hope this issue gets resolved, soon, so I can use the newer version again.

No reply? I would be disappointed if I bought the full version for nothing, even if I got it in the humble bundle. But as it is now, it doesn't work for me.
