Start8 literally destroying fresh windows 8.1 install on activation.

Hi.

I have been using Start8 on my windows 8.1 laptop for way over a year now and love it, it works perfectly on this computer and wouldn't go back.

I installed a fresh copy of windows 8.1 on a PC i had floating about and immediately installed Start8.
Upon activation it instantly locked the PC up completely, the start button disappears in the bottom left and i cant even ctrl+alt+del.

i have left it over an hour and nothing. I am left with no option but to power off at the wall.
Then i reboot, and it locks up on the welcome screen and again it was left over an hour with nothing happening.

Tonight i bit the bullet and reinstalled windows 8.1 again, this time immediately created a system restore point and tried start8 again with the same result, locked. 
So i have restored using the system restore point and now I am stuck with horrible tiled layout. I cannot use windows 8 without start8.

Please Help!

I have since tried to install start8 on another windows 8.1 PC and had the exact same result.

I shall assume Start8 is dead and use classic shell instead.

What you have experienced is not normal!  What version of Start8 was the installer and do you have anything non stock on the computer such as AV, anti malware etc?  When you installed did you also let it install ModernMix?

Did you contact formal support for assistance as that's the best way to get support?
