Monster SSD's and 3D chips...Oh My!

I have a 1 TB external SSD, for storage. What could I possibly do with one that holds 60 or 100 TB's?!? No clue.

Nah, that's the first thing that goes through my mind when I see a huge drive - a lot of eggs in one basket and a fair amount of pain when it fails, even if it's backed up.  "And poof it was gone..."

It would probably be a refreshing change from rummaging through a dozen drives constantly though,

Easily solved with Storage Spaces, ReFS, and drive mirroring.  I have a test going on right now with some old spindle drives, and the result is quite amazing.

Nice, but I still have 5.6TB's out of 7TB's still unused. I can't see any home used ever needing that much storage. Good for the government and big business though.

If you work with high resolution multitrack audio files (or UltraHD video), they are almost necessary. It doesn't take very long to use up a terabyte for recording audio; video would be even  worse.

For people that make photographs with high end gear it would make sense, considering the file size of uncompresssed raw in 42mp - each file 81,6mb.
A 30TB SSD would hold around 370.000 pictures  and thats only RAW format, i use to shot RAW and JPG.
