What is SMART BUTTON???????

Why every skins says "CURRENT SKIN DOES NOT SUPPORT SMART BUTTONS"? If none of the skin supports SMART BUTTONS, why there is function of SMART BUTTONS in Window Blinds.

I think Smart Buttons was an option built into WB that few skinners chose to make use of.

If you download the Alien Technology skin and use the main sub-style, you will see little buttons along the bottom of the window frame. The smart button is the one on the right which launches items in your quicklaunch menu.

Smart buttons will only appear in a skin if the author of the skin includes them. I have only made one skin that included one Smart button, it is a button that appears at the top left of every window you open and allows you to access this site from any window. The skin was called "Magenta Dreams", you can see it here: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=1&SkinID=2999
That's all I know about Smart buttons at this time.

A Smart Button is configurable by the user. If the skin has a smart button, in the Config dialog you can choose from 4 plugins. Three of the 4 are standard button functions like rollup, lock on top and URL. The 4th one is quick launch menu which is really handy but for some reason doesn't work on the new WB4 alphas. You also must be a registered user to access the smart buttons.

All of the above may be why there aren't a lot of skins that use them...


/me wishes someone would write some new smart button plugins... like a volume control maybe, or a popup notepad/scheduler... or....?
