Bug when hovering on a locked fence header

I feel forced to downgrade from 3.0 to 2.13

The upgrade to Fences 3.0 included a grave bug.

On narrow fences, when the mouse hovers on a header, the text disappears - EVEN when Fences are locked. That's totally annoying. 2.13 worked perfectly in this respect. The bug is that with the cursor hovering on a fence, it makes room for the right and left corner boxes ... which do not appear in the locked status!

I use a fixed layout with narrow fences so whenever I touch on a fence the headline disappears. The missing header and the constant flickering moving over the desktop is annoying. Was this properly tested before 3.0 was issued?

I have now downgraded to 2.13. That works like a charm.

Could you try 3.0 again and post some video of what you are seeing?

  1. Fences are locked. Yes?
  2. Fence is one icon wide. Yes?
  3. Portal fence or normal?
  4. What is the name of the Fence?
  5. What is the setting for the labels?

  1. Fences are locked. Problem both locked and unlocked
  2. Fence is one icon wide. Yes
  3. Portal fence or normal? Normal
  4. What is the name of the Fence? F.ex. Video
  5. What is the setting for the labels? Show always

Fences 2.13 video showing headers nicely fixed.

Fences 3.01 video showing headers being cut due to menu boxes, both unlocked AND LOCKED.

Why has the menu boxes in the header been introduced from v2 to v3?
They provide no extra functionality as you get the menu by right-clicking anyway.
If it is a formal visual decision to look as much as possible like anything else then I think Stardock should dare to be a bit different and better :)

The four-arrow cursor in unlocked state was very good and intuitive for easily moving fences around. Also a bad change in the upgrade in my opinion.

For my usage the header changes are to the very worse. So I will now downgrade again after upgrading to make the video.

Fences 3.01 unlocked                  Fences 3.01 locked                      header always bad

Fences 2.13 unlocked                  Fences 2.13 locked                     header always fine
