ANOTHER unhappy camper...

I am so dissapointed with everything I've paid for. I've used the free builds for years & almost never complained about it, so when I finally break down & throw nearly $100 (Canajun, eh) towards Object Desktop & Toon-XP (half-assed "suite") I've been less than satisfied with ANY of it. Every phucking day we get a new program to keep things in check, "don't use CM anymore.." "try using SC now..." etc. I'm not even sure WHAT program to use now. My WindowBlinds are GONE.. & I am a PAYING PHUCKING SUBSCRIBER!!!!

I think I'm going to write an email to Object Desktop to see if I can get a refund, I am SO less than impressed. Funny thing is I never had any trouble with anything UNTIL I payed for it all.

So, what can any admin suggest as the CORRECT course of action for a paying OD member who has lost all their WindowBlinds & is now looking at ugly grey windows again?

OK, a few things Phy2,

First, swearing is not accepted on this site. There is reason for it, it will never make your point accross any better, will just irritate people more, and most of all can get you exiled from this site. Consider this a warning.

Second, this is Wincustomize.com not Stardock.com. Although Stardock sponsors this site, it is not the Stardock tech support or Customer Service department. If you have a complaint, please contact Stardock.

Third, this is even less than the above Pixtudio's web site. If you have problems with the Toon suite, contact Pixtudio.

Lastly, if you change the wording of your post, and instead of a complaint you make it sound like a general request for help from the experienced users of Stardock products, perhaps you'd get better chances to get one of them try to help you out.

BTW: I believe that skins get installed in a different directory than before now. I'm sure your skins are not gone but somewhere else.

You know the problem with posting on April 1 is that no one knows whether this is a joke or not.

If it is.... Not enough sarcasm...

If it isn't... sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time.
If you have had success with the NON-registered components the reason is most likely that they are the final version. NOT the betas. That is one misconception about StarDock and their subscription plan. If you want the latest and greatest, you have to pay, not only with money but sometimes grief and pain. It's like with SDC and one of their short releases of its BETA when you installed it, it trashed some directories. Again this is expected cause it is BETA. Try using the release components.

I am a satisfied customer of StarDock for almost 2 years. At times I want to throttle Brads neck (or whoever wrote ) but then I remind myself, well silly you installed beta software, that has only gone though basic testing. Then I'm ok. It is a self inflicted wound. And I look forward to renewing my subscription soon.

Hehe, I think they prolly could of done it without the explitives. I think a lot of ppl, myself included, forget this is neither Stardock or PixStudio. I have em associated in my mind as I bought Toon via here and from here went and bought ODN so sort of see em as one when in reality they are not.

That said I too can say am fustraited with Toon. I bought it first then because of it ODN. Now have ODN which Im happy with and a paid for theme that has problems/issues/missing graphic files/missing variations and other stuff I didnt pay for that are just being ignored it seems. Things like the lack of a Custom Color variations of task panel of log off screen and such are totally in the realm of Pix no SD.

I have tried to send email to them and get no response. I post here and other users have helped on some issues and on others have seen the imfamous "in a week" posts several times concerning an update that never shows (but at least get a response). I post in Stardocks forums and users and Stardock try to solve/advise me but some of the probs are Theme specific not ODN related so not much they can do.

So to those who have tried to help in the past and may yet in the future my many thx in case I forget to say it.

Wincustomize= Very satisfied (Always loved)
PixStudio = Very VERY fustraited (definitly not planning to pay for another theme till hear on Toon issues)

Well.. now that they've nuked my Phydeaux_3 acct. (thanks guys) I have to post with a new name.
paxx: "swearing is not accepted on this site". Hmmmm... I looked up phuck in the dictionary & you know what? It's not even in there. So.. how come I am getting booted because of a word that does not even exist??? Don't worry though, I've had enough. I am requesting a refund from Stardock. And yes, you are right.. "I did this to myself", you see secretly I wanted everything to get all phucked up I guess, only I didn't even know it until you so kindly pointed that out.

One last thing, I laughed SO phucking hard at the "you want a nice stable build.." comment in another thread that I almost choked.

So long & thanks for all the fish.

Keep on keeping on y'all, I'll miss the real people.

1- Hey Phydeaux_4, I don't know what you're talking about. Phydeaux_3 has not been exiled.

2- Misspelling a swear word doesn't make it less of a swear word.

3- Go right ahead, ask for your refund. That's between you and Stardock. We don't care getting involved with it.

BUT...
Before arriving at this thread, I'd warned Phydeaux_3 about language and personal attack, so that, combined with Paxx's here makes 2 strikes, and that's one more than normal, purely to be seen as 'reasonable', considering he is a OD subscriber/customer.
HOWEVER...
Insulting Pixtudio [treetog & Alexandrie] is neither acceptable, nor justified. Patience is a virtue..addendums to ToonXP are in the works.
Raging against the machine will never get you respect or assistance.
Grow up, and develop a sense of common decency.
Ask politely and perhaps your problems will evaporate.

Be a prat and enjoy the boot to the backside.

Have you actually tried asking politely why you are having issues?

If WindowBlinds "disappeared" then this is probably because the build you are using timed out. I agree that perhaps in this case an updated build was released a bit too close to the expiry date, but the fact remains that beta users usually keep their betas up to date.

Most people have few if any issues with Stardock support. In fact, most compliment Stardock support. If you have issues speak to them or ask questions on this group politely and they will try to help. Being aggresive about things is unlikely to get you far.
