Problem: code 18 when using Object Desktop Manager to install fences - Windows 10

Hi,

I bought Object Desktop Manager today and set him to download fences , however every time it tries to install the application I receive an error message titled "irsetup" with the description: "Failed Self Extraction" and "Problem: Code 18".

I tried restarting my computer and deactivating my antivirus however the problem still occurs.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

P.S.

I am also encountering this problem when trying to install DeskScapes 8 (Launcher Error: Failed to read Lua DLL).

When you say you bought Object Desktop Manager, I'm guessing you mean you bought an Object Desktop subscription.

Try logging in to your account here, downloading the executable, and double-clicking on it to install:

It is also good to download all the exe's from there and archive them, and keep track of your Product Key, so that they can be re-installed in the future should the need arise and your subscription has expired.  The downloads will only be available while the subscription is active, but you can continue to install later if necessary provided you have kept the installers and the Product Key.

And don't count on ObjectDesktop Manager for much in the way of downloading. It's flakier than Grandma's biscuits. If it does show an update for anything, it's best to use the link provided by DaveRI to get your apps.

Also, it often helps to temporarily disable your AV/Malware apps when installing the apps.

True.  And unfortunate.  I kinda wish SD would pull it, for all the headaches it gives users.  JMO.
