Problem after problem!

I like helping people, but some people are beyond help, and get very annoying. I fact I’m convinced a certain individual was playing dim, or trying to get on my nerves.

Here’s a list of some of the silliest or weirdest comments from my emails.

Comment- Can you help me?

My response- With what?

Comment- It don’t work :-<

My response- What doesn’t work? Are you trying to load a desktop x theme, if so I need to know which one?

Comment- I’m trying to load innovation but It’s not a valid windowsblids theme! R u sure it is a windowblinds theme!!!!!!

My response- It’s a desktop X theme, you need desktop x to run it. Link

Comment- Ok thanks, next time tell people that it’s for desktop X, saves a lot of time wasting!!!!!

Sorry I thought that being in the desktop x library said enough that I would be a desktop x theme.

(That must have been a joke)

Comment- does that apple theme work on a PC? If so do I need any software to load it?

My response- Yes it works fine on a pc, in fact it was built using XP, all you need is desktop X.

Comment- I have direct X already on my computer, but it’s not a valid windows theme. Do I need a newer version of direct x?

My response- it actually desktop x you need, link.

Comment- I like you Lcarz theme, but I think you should put wallpaper with it, cos it looks a bit boring with just a black background! What about a star wars wall, with the death star that would look really cool.

My response- Hi glad you like LCARS. The theme is actually Star trek, and is supposed to emulate the computer system, used in the show, and therefore must have a black background.

There have been others, but these were the best. Has anyone else had strange emails, with wired questions?

This happens all the time. You are not unique. You can go threw the sections and read the comments that people leave on the different works and see the same type of questions.

It must be annoying to get those "dumb" questions, but its something anyone in the service sector or related areas has to deal with. I work in retail and we get our share of "dumb" questions.

Today I had a lady who wanted to buy a "phone that works without wires".... oh you mean a cordless I said. Then she said she had 4 holes in the wall and wanted to know how to plug this phone into it. Near as I could gather she was referring to the old style phone plug before modular plugs, but then when I showed her the adaptor to power it, she wasn't clear where that went, even when I pointed out that it plugs into the wall like any electric item.

I realize that story is a bit off topic, but this kind of thing is normal when dealing with people. Not everyone is going to get it. Though in some cases I think its amazing they could get on the internet, never mind surf the web and download things.

Those who deal with software/hardware support deserve a lot of credit.

I work in customer service every day, pretty much... I've grown dull to the general populations stupidity. It's sad and sometimes worries me. The lack of intelligence is frightening ... they let these people DRIVE a couple ton vehicle in a fast=paced society... I think we're doomed! =P
Reply #12 Top
the only thing I know of that is stupid is a unanswered question, and then only because it has not
been answered because someone did not ask it is it stupid...

Though ignorance can be a scary and sometimes dangerous thing, for sure...

Although it is funny to us, lets just remember that one isn't stupid just because he doesn't know something. Heck my car mechanic probably has a field trip when I try to exlpain to him what's wrong with my car.

... paxx.. altho i do admit defeat and keep mostly in silence when dealing with issues i know nothing about.. i to observe.. tho some people on the other hand migth for example make those funny sounds to the mechanic.... (like in the commercials =P) .. i just take it to them and say... it doesn't work.. fix it... im not a mechanic... so i can't say what i think it is.. plus its really not what im that interested in.... you're right.. I'm just not "knowledgeable" about those things.. like some people are about other things........ tho it really is dumbfounding what people come up with at times...... its makes you wonder WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?!

You should hear the inquiries I get about checkbooks that don't balance. They seem to always want to blame the bank and when asked, never have balanced a statement. "I don't need to, I hide extra money in my account so that I'll never be overdrawn". Everyone uses money but some (no matter how old) just can't get the hang of it. You would be very surprised!!!!!!

I wouldn't be surprised. For years I have been dealing with people that think if they have blank checks there must be money in the bank.
