XP Shutdown Problems

Does anyone know of a fix for xp shutting down problem ? I've tried the sp1 patch from microsoft, and a whole other things. The pc just stops at the windows is shutting down screen.

Doesn't sound good Maybe you carried over some bad vibes from Win9X and need to reinstall.

What browser are you using.... IE 5.5 used to cause troubles like that for me.

there is a known issue with XP shuting down... and there is a patch. Try it, it may work.

Huh - well, my desktop takes about 10 minutes after clicking shutdown for it to decide to start shutting down - and that known issue ain't it.

No IME on the welcome screen (No welcome screen!), and SP1 is installed. ^_^

Actually, I've slowly been tracking it down - it's something listed in taskmgr that's causing the delay, I know that much - I just need to care about it enough to bother looking more.
