lil warning about sdc .99, its hosed my system 2 times now with ntldr errors on bootup, and Im apparently not the only person having this issue. Another individual on the sdcentral newsgroup is having the same problem and hes had this happen 4 times.

Cant be 100% sure of course, but I thought id warn others

Wommers yeah Lightening !!

My brother and I did a lot of the Pool enclosures over there, if you have one and need re-screening let me know and I can help you out with doing it yourself and saving you $$$ in the process

did you happen to try the UDPorts? once I opened them up to Stardock.com, Stardock.net and Wincustomize.com I havenn't had any of the server busy errors. Weird thing is I am now using a secure portal for my internet access forwarding all ports through it and it's working like a champ...

I think what was happening ( before I setup the portal )was when in SDC or WInC Browser, I would click a link or some such, heck even just on the IE icon outside of the SDC and WCB, the -Embedding arg got passed to IE and my firewall would get confubalated trying to see if it sould allow the net access or not so the OS would timeout and give me the Server Busy error, once I would kill that process it would work fine(?) so I checked on what ports and connections it was attempting to make. Saw it was trying UDP 2416 so I opened that, and being open when I would clikc a link it would attempt to use a different one, so then I opened all of them to those three sites only, anything else attempting to use them gets passed through my firewall still, but those three sites automaticall get open access to them and bingo, no more error...

TaskInfo2003 lets you see every single process, gives you all information on every single process and also lets you see exactly what is making or attempting to make a network connection, what port it, is/trying to, make use of and all information on the connection when it does make it. Also much much more information for debuging anything and everything running on your system...

worth a look at for anyone really... TaskInfo2003 that is...
Lets you flush the system cache, purge and recover ram in two different ways, flush the clipboard completely, remove dll's from memory and such...

thanx iplural. i dloaded taskinfo so i'll be playin with it for awhile here. looks very useful. as for the enclosures, they are getting close to having to be replaced. thanx for the offer. i'll let you know. i could use the experience too. it would be something different for me to be doin instead of being in front of this monitor all the time.
