Calling all none Desktop X users.

Hi, I’m a skinner of desktop x and logonstudio at the moment. Will probably stat sinning other apps in the near future.

In my questionnaire, (recently posted) I asked a question about what people wanted from desktop x.

A large amount of people answered saying that they didn’t use desktop x because they have maximised windows open frequently and hardly ever see the desktop.

I have uploaded my final update (at this time) for Innovation X P enhanced 6.0. It has a pop up menu that shows menus, and gives you system information, and controls fort media player.

Basically asking none desktop x users to try this theme ants see if it is more appealing, and more useful.

Download Innovation XP 6.0 at: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=3&SkinID=2345

Let me know that you think and if you have any suggestions.

Thanks

Adam

my screen is too small.... 1024

Hey Adam - just wanted to say I think it looks great. Takes up too much desktop space for my tastes, but then, anything that takes up more space than a small windows taskbar takes up too much space, to me! ^.^

Oh - and I do 99% of my computer stuff on my notebook - which only has a 1024 res, too.

I'd try it but it is too small for me. I use 1920x1440 on a 21" screen. I have switched from DX to objectbar and won't be going back or using the two together until iconX is compatable with virtual desktops and the objectbar right-click menus. Looks tempting though... Good work

its a beutiful skin, but im spoiled by LS, i like extreme simplicity, just look at my desktop screeny, no eye candy interface for me just a pretty wallpaper and my system stats

Adam, I've been watching your DX themes and they certainly look impressive. I run at 1024 resolution, though. I also am one of those people who rarely see the desktop when I'm using my PC. But yours and Boxxi's work too for example may get me to give DX a whirl. I downloaded one of Boxxi's and haven't yet set it up to do anything useful but sometimes I load it up just to watch the automation.

/me makes themes that BoXXi likes.....if you like them too, that's fine. If you don't, well,...I'll live. I like cool graphics and animation, I don't care if it uses up lots of resources, to be honest, I don't know if my themes are heavy or light on resources, I never check.
I was always told,(by some of the greatest skinners) to skin for myself first and foremost. If you try and skin just to get lots of downloads and become popular, you are not being true to yourself.

/me goes back to making another 70 frame animation for his next theme...

I've used Desktop X from time to time to see how the acturally theme is like compare to the screenshots. The problem I run into is memeory usage. AND I run at 1024 also!

So for now, until something comes along that's looks good, feels good, and taste good , I will be using XPCorona of Windowblind. I like the simple look and feel of it.

Oh, what happen to that other theme that you said you were going to make a 1024 version of??

Oops. automation = animation. (I knew there was something wong with that word.) Oh, it's fantastic, Boxxi! I just haven't yet set it up to do practical things, but it's sure great to watch things spinning.

It's kinda like music in a way isn't it? I mean a band that is making music thier way for themselves and then they bring the people along with them is real, we have newer bands today like this, but most of the older ones that are still around really come to mind when I think about it. Once a band hits canned mucis, it just kinda fals into the pop market and seems so watered down from the origional stuff.

Big Hair bands of the 80's had a problem with that, fantastic rifs and monster drum solo's you could turn the station and hear the same song from a different band 90% of the time...

I would guess that canned theme and skin would pretty much be the same thing. Something gets lost in the process, the soul of it?

maybe I'm just wacked or something, dunno...

Koasati, your reply seems a little harsh.

Huh - I took Kosati's post as not-all-together serious. ^.^

Boxxi's right though - about making themes for himself, first and foremost!

Sorry folks, I have to agree with Koasati. This message board isn't for self promotion. If everybody posted a thread every time they uploaded a skin, that's all that would be here. Skins have their own comments area specifically for feedback. Koasati made his tounge in cheek post with a wink (see the emoticon), but I'm not. Also, telling a moderator which threads he can post in probably isn't a great idea.

well of course you could, define the active area of an open window a few pixels short of total screen resolution and give them a click point to open other features of the theme and menuing system... at least that is what I figure you could do without every even attempting it. I am probably being stupid here.... dunno....

I think everyone just needs to cool down a bit. I hate it when people argue in this way.
