click sounds

Hi all,
Just thought I'd generate some discussion on click sounds for buttons, I personally prefer silent buttons. I am hard at work on my second WB skin and was thinking of adding them, if anybody likes them. Just wanted to find out how many like sounds or are annoyed by them (like me)

Doesn't matter. Some have them and some don't. No preference either way.

as long as the sounds aren't obnoxious I don't mind them at all. Just a very short little click sound is fine.

If you want to add them, it's up to you. The tough part is making sure the sounds aren't copyrighted though. Not easy to make you own sounds.

yeah,
good point paxx, haven't checked the web 4 sounds as of yet, but I was thinking of making my own first and foremost, using guitar harmonics. I just lack the hardware to interface my guitar with my computer, this WB skin might be the excuse I need to get off my arse and get what I need, but the price has to be right cause I am poor

I like the clicks, because my sound card has reverb.

I use a 'whoosh' for the roll-up function....always good to emphasise it for those who have never seen a roll-up in action...

Does anyone know if .wav files must be used in WB skins or can I use MP3's or something smaller?

I need some help adding sounds to a Windowblinds skin. The .wav sound file is in the skin folder and shows up in Skin Studio, but no sound. I am trying to copy sounds from one skin to another. Thanks

I'd like to help, but I am stumped right now too. The sounds I have added don't work, and as far as I can tell they should be. they're in the skin folder and I made sure the "use skin sounds if any" option in WB config is enabled. Might be a skinstudio bug if you are using the latest version... it's full of them

You have to enable to attribute in the UIS file that tells the skin it has to use titlebar button sounds.

OK, got it Hippy. I clicked on CODE and changed the sound attribute from 0 to 1. Thanks.
