Isabel Allende is a noted author. You must be familiar with the fate of her uncle as it is noted in the text you linked to. She lives in Northern California. Does she hate what happened to her uncle and why it happened? No doubt. Does she hate the USA and its people? Evidently not. Yet there are still Chileans to this day who defend Pinochet and the coup. He's a hero to some while he remains a butcher to others.

Not all of us as you seem to think are ignorant of American history and not all of us have approved of the gov't's actions in the past or present. Just as you probably now would not care to have people blame you for the Spanish Inquisition and the destruction the Spanish brought to the pre-Columbian civilizations of the Americas. By the way, how's the Basque independence movement going in Spain? Why not just let them go? Won't the ETA stop if Spain grants the Basques full independence? Do the Basques hate the Spain?

hmmmmmm..... I don't understand the attacks. There are people who disgree with the goverment of the US and live in the US. Just like there are people in Spain who disagree with thier goverment.



There are many people here who know what war is like. Does that mean you avoid war at all costs to the point where your life is in jeaperdy? Your family? Your town? The funny thing is that by avoiding it to the extreme whould actually bring the war on your door step anyway.

Saddam (and others) would rule there region happly. Control and threaten other countries until... well, until they are at your door step.



As much as I want to protest how the administration has screwed up this thing and how I do not want war, I find that no one who is against the war like me to be able to answer the questions I posed earlier.

Yes, people are allowed to do that here because of democracy. In Iraq such anti government protests would be met with torture and beheadings. How fortunate you are to have free speech.

Hum, didn't you read the news? The Spain government had to back out. Although it supported the US prior to the war, they decided against helping the US militarely.

Well, if you agree with war or not, I don't think it will matter at this point. It's obvious that the war will happen. (Since they have already started to bomb) We should be more concerned now over how many lives will be lost and how fast we can help Iraq get back on their feet.

Paxx, as a pro military person, I don't consider peace as a cowardly act. If allelse fails and peace cannot be obtained without war, then if a person doesn't want to fight to protect ones way of like or country then I would consider that an act of cowardice.

Paxx has a noble stance, and he is sticking to his convictions. How is that being a coward? If he was a coward, he wouldn't be on here stating his views.

The time for protests and opinions is over. Support your country. Support your armed forces - they need to know you are with them.

Alo is spending all this energy worrying about the US. Apparently their democracy over there in Spain has some serious problems.

Our domacracy is working quite well - we want military action and our government is providing it.

I am pro military being that I'm in the military but I'm not pro war for no reason of it, but there are times when it is necessary.

I'm just praying for a few buddies I have over there right now because of the attempted attack that Iraq already has tried doing by firing off some al samud missiles into the Marine camp in Kuwait.
