tweaking cursorXP themes

having finally upgraded my work machine to a decent OS, i have installed CursorXP 1.3 on it.

i use windows with a black background a lot at work (think command prompt), so want to keep the clever text selection cursor. this is white when over a black background, and black over a white background.

am i missing some way in the configuration dialog to use the standard windows cursor for some cursors, and theme cursors for other cursors?

or do i simply need to edit the theme manually?

hi Feline...

CursorXP won't do the magical text cursor, unfortunately. I've seen some discussion of this on the newsgroups and I think they are trying to figure out how to implement it. There have been a couple of cursor sets released lately which have 'glowy' text select cursors which look good on black or white backgrounds. They are by Ingui.

In Control Panel/Mouse select CursorXP then click 'configure' under 'theme', select your cursor, then click on 'configure' lower down in the panel and then 'Normal', 'Standard Cursor'.

ah, many thanks fuzzy!

i found the first configure button, but got side tracked with the discovery that this let me edit the click point of my cursor

it is just so much easier at home. just apply the "water drops" theme, and i am totally happy no need to deal with terminal emulators, or any of these other odd things work wants me to do
