Man even Vet's tell fibs about what your animal is thinking

Boomer got um, fixed the other day, we are not breeding him and there is the fear of cancer and such, quality of life if you don't fix him kind of thing.

So the Vet says, bring him in and we will have him for most of the day, mostly keeping an eye on him to make sure nothing is wrong before sending him home. He won't even notice it, other than some little pain..

Well, my wife and Runt dropped him off and I went and picked him up with them later in the afternoon. He would not go near them and would always keep me between them and him. Look around my legs at them like, what did to you for you to do this to me?

It has been two days now that he is home and he is just now letting them get near him and he still has this look of disgust on his face when he looks at them. He also makes this blowing sound when he is fed up with something, and he makes it alot now when they talk to him, he will look at them after a bit while they speak, eye ball em, blow and turn away like some disgruntled spouse or child...

Though he is himself with me, and seems to be getting more like Boomer all the way around today. He tried to jump into my truck, bad idea on his part...

anyway, enough pointless rambling, maybe I can keep it down from doing it in other threads by doing it in this one

probably, on a serious note, for sure... He is extreamly smart and also very loving and tactil, wants to be touched and also he wants eye contact when your petting him..

really strange...

he hides things on you, like if your putting on your shoes he will steal a sock or shoe and go hide it, and then act like "what?" so then you tell him to go get it and he will, but he acts like he *found* it helping you look for it and deserves a treat

Sounds like a great dog....He will probably get over it when the physical discomfort is gone. Not to say that it will be forgotten, but he will forgive the family members that were responsible.

But he'll never, ever trust the vet again!

I have three dogs. Oh yeah, they know! They are always mad at me, because I'm the one who takes them in when they need something done (like getting their teeth cleaned). I think they have even started to learn to spell....can't get anything past them.

pretty bad when you have to learn sign so you can communicate around the dogs!! they are smarter than many give them credit for.. and they also learn how to manipulate the heck out of you given half the chance worse than kids, or a boyfriend/husband which is just a big kid really in many instances!
