Slow? Not sure what your talking about. Split second slow or 5-10 seconds slow. On my machine a split sec. isn't going to kill me.

Windowblinds is just as fast if not faster than the "native" XP themes, but a little slower than the "classic" theme. When I need extreme performance, I disable all skins and just run Classic.

Personally, at different points depending on which system I am sitting in front of on my network, I load WB or DeskTop X for my user account. Otherwise the system has the same boring MS look and feel, I also run WinStep FULL and Hoverdesk and Aston on diffrent system depending on the box and what I feel like at the moment.

It's a personal choice, and if it happens to slow your system down, then you probably have other issues beyond WindowBlinds... As a matter of fact, why don't you run the XPBench.exe benchmark program without WB loaded, take a screen shot, and then run it again with WB loaded and take a screen shot. You might find some interesting results and it might also give you an idea of why there is a slow down.

XPBench is so good at what it does that Nvida used it to tune their New driver set for its GPU's...

I'm ranked on page 170 with no skin (Classic mode) and on page 240 with a Windowblinds skin running.

I know I have been waiting for ours to hit a certain number and then I will be able to get my new laptop, but every time it looks like that number is getting close, something comes along and the next month it moves wayyyyyyyyy off into the future once again..
