How do you handle put-downs on your work?

How do you handle put-downs on your work?

So, I upload my second CursorXP cursor…and Mr. ‘Poohead’ (I deemed him that he-he) whom shall remain anonymous () is following me around (okay, it FEELS that way he-he) and putting down my new stuff I’m making like he’s god’s gift to animaton. It seems to me…some people truly have no conscience or concept or appreciation of ANYTHING. This guy is looking for perfection? Good luck! ! I see PLENTY of faults with my new stuff…I’m new at this…I’m trying my best and that’s all I can do until I polish my skills up.

Uh…and on a personal note…I made a typo on my Shaman Cursor comments and wrote Starcock rather than Stardock when I was just waking up. I will NOT live this down now!

Sowwy, Frogboy…here I was…exclaiming the greatness of CursorXP and I fumble!

Poo, I say…

Anyway, I know everyone’s work gets bashed on this site and why should I be any different, right? Right! It just sucks when people try to filibuster you with bad voojoo for no apparent reason other than just being a sore-sport!

---End of bitching---

(((((hugs to everyone))))

Green_Armani, I think that "Schmoopy" likes to paint photos. I've seen a lot of "art" like that. Looks too close to a photo (except for some of the obviously painted backgrounds). Maybe Schmoopy is Shmoopy's dark side. Afterall, one of the paintings is called "Fuzzy"

I was thinking the same but I just didn't want to say it

Green_Armani, I learned some of the tricks of that while in Photography school, so that is why I think they are paint overs. Was harder to do before computers, but not so hard anymore. It is a nice effect for portraits, though. Some people want a "painted" portrait, but don't want to pay the high price tag. So, that is a nice option.

I still think those paintings are awsome.
Don't know if they are paintovers, or if they are how easy it is to do, but the end result is quite astonishing.

"Angela, I have a bear sitting right next to me and my puter. Thank you."

Thanks WOM - I don't feel as bad about the stuffed white tiger down here next to my notebook, or the two little puffball kittens (a gift - I like cats ) sitting on top of my desktop monitor upstairs! ^.^

Actually what it "could be" is a straight image from Poser because you can render out an image that has that painted look....forgot the name of that render option but basically it gives an image a cartoony look. Most likely it was done with that render option and then finished in ______ (insert your farvorite 2D program, i.e. PShop, or PSPro) It's funny how I know a lot about these programs and yet I can't do those things
Reply #168 Top
Don't know about that option in Poser, but I can tell you it's NOT the "painted" filter in Photoshop. I can spot that filter effect from miles. This is too well done to be that.

I would suspect that they have the picture, and literally painted over it, either with paint (which is what I learned) or in something like photoshop (which you can find a ton of on Deviant Art). It's still a cool effect, and they most likely had to take the picture (unless they "borrowed"it) so there is still a lot of talent involved either way.

Yeah I agree it's just that in some of the comments he said he used Vicki 2. That is a poser model found in Poser, so that's what's making me think they used Poser. Still very pretty work though.

Yeah, you are right. He says "This was originally a render of Victoria in Poser. Face ,hair and other body tweaks were done in Photoshop." for one of the pictures.

If you want a 'realistic' nude that is NOT a paint-over, but a PSP manipulation of a hand-painted watercolour [by me]....I shan't link to it here, but try Deviantart.com and look for the-Jafo.
Done by 'eye' with no filters.
It's easy to set up a posterised filter to imitate those pics linked above....or by 'paint-over'.....cripes...all you gotta do is start limiting palette numbers...

Yeah...what Jafo said

I'm looking at those again, and you know, I don't think it's paint over. Some of them are better done than others, and on some of tehm you can very well tell it's done in Poser or another 3D program. Some definatly have that 3Dish Lara Croftish look to them.
But 3 or 4 of those are very well done.
