Good Vs. Evil

Good Vs. Evil

Who wins? Why? Is it really winning if the outcome is already settled?

More on this later.

Aye. Mankind is a pest. And the sooner the Earth is rid of it, the better. Trouble is, we just don't want to go.

At times I think the world-organism as a whole ("Gaea" so to speak) is trying to rid itself of mankind via floods, quakes diseases and what not.

No, I do not actualy believe this, it's a mere thought. Besides, we're already working on going extinct here. If not via a nuclear extravangaza, then surely through resistant virii and bacteria (thanks to the abuse of antibiotics).

HIGHWAY TO HELLL MUAHAHAH,

indeed, the usa and sofjet can destroy the world 200 times with their nuclear bombs.

sofjet... is that a hand conditioner?

usa is suppossed to be a stable country so the likely hood is suppossed to be null.

While I do believe humans are differnt from animals on this planet, I have become aware since i have been alive that there are way more simularities than differences. In fact I think there is only one difference and that is I believe, conscience of its existance with the ability of gaining knowledge through generations.

The funny thing about that is that is is highly possible that we just are not technically advanced enough to know other animals (other than dolphins, elephants and whales) are as advanced as we are.

Its hard to look out your window and say we can't be called animals to considering we come from the same planet and have similar traits.

Our ability to kill ourselfs is only shared by so many creatures on the planet. Maybe instead of being 'better' than other animals, maybe reconising that we are the human animal would help ourselves some.... ,maybe not

I'm feeling a bit evil today

Would like nothing more than to stab my doctor in the lower back with a nerve block while explaining, well, it might and it moght not work right away.

Well after the 3rd one I can tell you that it hasn't worked a bit, went out and bought a freaking cain so I can walk more then 6 blocks without feeling like I am going to fall on my face, which has happened 5 times now....

I know, maybe I'll beat him about the ears with the cain and tell him I figure two more times of that and he will know without a doubt that nerve blocks do not always work and when they fail they FAIL!?!

oh and the self defense ideal.... I think some of that comes from nature (animalistic). I would defend my family in danger and not think about if I could be killing the other person.

I used to be a first aid responer and the first thing you do is make sure the are is safe. If I am defending myself or my family I have to eliminate the threat.

it gets confusing when I perive a threat to myself when its "hey, i want to buy that car" and if I don't get it I kill. The car is really nice you know. It will increase my status and earning power so I can feel safe.

As for Good and Evil... I am seriously wondering if it is just a property of this Universe. We do not have a full grasp on what it is. There will always be a 'gray' area because 44% bad and 56% good produces a sort of 'gray'. I am not sure but when black and white is spun quickly does it not product many colors to the eye?

perspective, there are not any absolutes, beyond personal perspective really...

and to have a difinitive distinction of good or evil, you have to have an absolute to deal with it... the world and humanity, reasoning are to dynamic and too subjective for there to be anything close enough to an aboslute...

You turn on your light swtich, will the light come on, probably, but it might burn out or the power might be off or it might blow every breaker in the house.

all they way down to religion, there are not any absolutes, someone can take upon them self and Idea as being an absolute, but until it is proven without a doubt to be the only possible solution, outcome, meaning held by, then it can never be said there is anything near such a thing as an absolute...

Relitivity dicates that there will be an equal or great reaction to any action, I would take it a step further and apply the same modle to non-action also...

Energy in its purest form never disapates it only transforms...

if you are born you spend then reast of your life from your first breath, dying.

So if you live you will die, and from the looks of it you will spend a life time paying taxes

I dun no...

good - evil, positive - negative... perception

/me is brain dead tonight, sorry about rambling....
gonna lurk...

joetheblow, You have got the physics of colours all wrong. It is the other way round. If you rotate all the colours fast, they will appear as a white blur... I think this might be Nature's way of telling us that all of us are essentially the same, we come of the same Being, irrespective of our caste, creed, colour or religion...

Energy remains constant.. that's true IP+ but entropy, the very essence of energy is always on the increase. Whatever we do, whatever actions we perform, lead to an irreversible increase in entropy. Maybe, that is like Life itself. Our actions are constant, remain constant and dissipate in different forms. But as they are irreversible, their 'entropy', i.e. their 'Karma': good or bad, keeps on increasing and accumulating.

I think 'Good' and 'Evil' must be judged not by actions alone, but their consequences, their reactions, the response they elicit.

Food is good, hunger is evil. Sharing food is good, exploiting it is evil. The human being is not capable of determining in a logical way what is good and what is evil. They do not learn from history, they learn from their actions and relevant consequences. Every generation seem to have the necessity to find its own values which are based on old values, yet aren't very good in applying it, because they want to invent them themselves. Hunger makes humans hunt and a hunting human being is the most dangerous preditor ever existed on earth.

Yeeeeesh! Good and Evil? The oppisites on the same coin? Yin Yang? Moderation and Abuse? Karma (what goes around comes around)? Man and Woman? Can't have one without the other. Ye, though I walk through the valley of the message board...

Good/evil, right or wrong. Where you were born. What religion or no religion. Upbringing, social status, etc etc. All this does have some bearing on your beliefs. No black or white, right or wrong, yes or no, just a lot of grey. Leading all 87 of these answers left me with a question. Why does everyone have a problem with people ripping them off or wanting there serial number to the software? Could be where that person was born or his religion or upbringing, there's nothing wrong with this. It's not evil, bad or wrong. Who am I to force my way onto someone else. Do I believe in stealing, no. Is it black or white, yes, no grey. Most of this thread doesn't make for good reading. To much BS or wishy washy.

I have seen both Good and Evil in the stark Light of GOD.
Then I had to make a choice.
It was a no brainer.

I hope no one else has to see such a thing.

I barely made it out alive!

WOM "I" actually believe there is black or white, right or wrong, yes or no, but the grey area is where "we" live cuz it's just easier that way...
(my opinion of course) hehe

also I've been living in the grey area myself lately so ignore me! hehe
Reply #96 Top
Doreen, yes there is grey area. Its that place where we justify what we did was right. Like abortion. Is it right or wrong. Did we kill someone or didn't we. Grey area. Can we justify it or not in our mind.

okay well I really hate speaking about this in public but oh well I'm feeling brave today! hehe

God is not Audible when he speaks. you do not "hear" him Audibly but you feel his presence and his words are spoken in a way undescribable by a human. but if you listen you can hear him (yeah that don't make sense but I never do) hehe!

I do believe we have (1) Heavenly Father though we are mixed up on what to call him...
