Bryce 101

1. You can drag any of the palettes around the screen by pressing and holding the space bar while clicking on a palette and moving it.

2. When you want to change the shape of an object in relation to itself instead of where it's at in the space click on the down arrow next to the edit button click on the object option.

4. To duplicate an object click it so it's highlighted and then press CTRL+D.

5. To change an object into a different one (i.e., sphere to torus) while maintaining it's original proporations use number 4 above to duplicate and in the edit menu towards the right there are two little arrows facing away from each other, click on them and select a different shape and that object magically changes to it.

More to come but I'm sure most of you already know these. I'll list more technical ones when I get home.

Just wanna help others who ask "How did you do that?" A lot of it is in front of you and like myself was unsure what it did until I tried it. The really big thing I want to help people is with rendering because I notice often times that the layout is good but what ruins it is the render. Bryce has an impress way of rendering images and if you ever wondered why it took 10 hours or even 30 hours to render something it was becasue your rendering options were wrong. Don't get me wrong it probably won't speed it up drastically but Bryce will have an easier time of figuring out where to put all the pixels.

I'm surprised they even let you post this here G_A, seeing as how much they generally despise Bryce on this site...

Doesn't the majority of wallpaper involve Bryce in some way

Don't know, and don't really care... If I like it, I don't care how it was made....

Really strange but all my images have been made in Bryce so atleast from my standpoint if the wall is presented well then it doesn't matter what it was made in, right? I guess since Bryce isn't popular I'll just let this thread fall of the bottom
Reply #10 Top
I'm the same, i use Bryce in almost everything i do, like you say GA its all in the presentation and you and others do very well to create 'non Bryce' like walls

/me is scared of Bryce I do everything in Photoshop 5

Bryce is the light.....BoXXi come into the light........Naw, you do extremely well in PS so I can see why you probably don't need to use Bryce. I use both............

I think the problem is that after a while most Bryce images tend to look... well.. Brycey. The same way that if you've used photoshop for a little while you can spot an Eyecandy bevel from 500 feet.

I strongly disagree. The thing is that Bryce has so many uses and looks that anyone who is willing to learn the functionality of Bryce can make images that don't look "Brycey" (not that I'm one). I'm sure you've gone to renderosity and seen all the different images and how they vary

Bryce is just the tool, your imagination and patience makes the finished piece

Very interesting thread Juan! Please go on

Dark Mist, you are right! I totally agree with you

Since some of you would like to know more I'll continue this thread once I get home since I have an easier time "remembering" Bryce when I'm actually in it

Don't get me wrong, there are many sites that love the basic Bryce stuff, they are viewing it as someone who doesn't do it themselves and find it all good not knowing how easy some of it is,keep an open mind and remember to get to the top very basic and maybe boring work will have to be produced to learn from comments and the mistakes you make.

this i posted elsewhere, was my very first attempt in Bryce and yes its not very good and yes its boring and typical Bryce but it got a good responce http://www.deskmod.com/core.mod?show=showskin&skin_id=27697

Is it me or do a lot of you post at other sites? I guess I only stick with WinCustomize because it's the best on the Web.....right? I've gone to other sites that post walls that make me go hmmmmmm. Maybe it's cuz the mderators here are some tough cookies.
