Beta 7 instant crash launching game - onboard gfx issue?

One of the machines I play on is a laptop- lenovo v570. Has been playing fine but now beta 7 it crashes with send error report to Microsoft when trying to launch a game. Multi, single, daily challenge, they all crash. It's windows 10, and has an Intel HD 3000 graphics chip, if that is of assistance.

I rolled that one back to beta 6 and continue to enjoy beta 7 on the desktop pc, also same win10 build, same 3rd party security suite, etc, so am assuming it is graphics/chipset related to the built in Intel hd 3000.

I'm on HD4000, InSync has the HD3000. Intel's HD series work fine with Offworld.

Timmay, in order to run the game on HD3000, you need to enforce DirectX 9 via Steam launch options. It's not officially supported, but dev team was kind enough to make it possible for us, the masochists, to play nonetheless.

In your Steam library right-click on OTC --> Properties --> Set Launch Options... --> type in "-force-d3d9" without quotes --> OK. It might take a couple of attempts to register. Just make sure that when you launch the game the main menu says Direct3D 9.0c instead of Direct3D 11.0.

Thanks InSync, I didn't have this issue prior to Beta 7 (this machine has played all previous Betas no issue) so didn't know about those options. I added the parameters you mentioned and confirmed Beta 7 launched in DX9 mode and it works just fine now!

My apologies. I believe this is the same issue as here: https://forums.offworldgame.com/472770/page/1/#3598029. Running in D3D9 mode is a valid workaround until we can get a fix out. For convenience, there is a batch file in the install folder that will run the game in D3D9 mode, or you can edit the launch options as described above.
