Stardock Central & Component Mgr Question

Using SDC & CM have introduced two dir. in my program files dir. Both are duplicates of the other. One or the other has to go. What is the procedure; transfer all to SDC? Will there be a conflict with the other or what? Old Crab is now thuroughly confused. Example: I now have 2 Windowblind folders, 2 Weblind folders, 2 Drivescan folders, ETC. Someone please explain what to do. >

You could take one set and put it on a cdrw and then delete what is on the hard drive.

If nothing changes then delete it off the cdrw. or the opposite scenario which is restore.

or

wait until someone who knows something has a better suggestion

Old Crab. Seeing SD is still in beta, I would keep both until SD is released as a final this month. And then delete
CM.

As long as it isn't causing any conflicts, Ande's suggestion sounds very logical, OC...

Thanks JM33,Ande,& Ms. D, however OC is a neatness buff. Having redundant program files is just impossible to bear. MS may sling files left and right all over the HD but I expect better file mgt. from Stardock no matter if it's still in b. or not. Especially since my WB skins are all in one folder and the prog. in another folder. Ah me......., >

Whenever OC laid=off Keebler elves misbehave I give them Bushmill Irish Whiskey. Seems to produce an outstanding work ethic, as long as I don't run out.

It seems that SDCentral sets up a different path and then Component manager gets confused about where to put programs.

You need to use regedit and check the "Installation Path" here: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Object
Desktop\MANAGER\Component Manager

Make sure it's the same as "Installed" and "Path" (should be the Object Desktop folder)

interesting... on my computer I do have two directories... but everythings is on the one directory in mine... Stardock central itself is in a new directory... but everything else is still in it's original directory... I only have one for each program... and it updates to that one made by my component manager...

After all the crashes that the WB alpha has caused me, I will wait until the final release of all future software before downloading...

That is a very, very, very, very, sane solution to a myriad of problems. Wait. Patience grasshoppers. Thank you very, very, very, much.
