It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor.
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?...

It's a neighborly day in this beauty wood,
A neighborly day for a beauty.
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?...

I've always wanted to have a neighbor just like you.
I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So, let's make the most of this beautiful day.
Since we're together we might as well say:
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?
Won't you please,
Won't you please?
Please won't you be my neighbor?

The day before he died...I accidentally flipped on channel nine...and Mr. R...was on...and rather than flip it off I kept it on because he always had a comforting way about him...

It was odd...I hadn't heard him in such a long while but it felt like 'home' to me...especially never growing up with a father or father figure...

Then, sure enough...the next day the news announced his death...

GM, I myself wanted to post something yesterday but felt strange about it... I'm so glad you did... L(

I think Mr. Rogers was a 'daddy' of sorts to many lost children... I shall miss his gentle, kind soul.

One of my fondest memories of him...was of his 'sweaters'...as an adult, I later bought some sweaters much like his were...my 'grandpa' sweaters I call them. And when I slip one on...I feel comforted and protected...

My daughter and I both will miss him. *Sigh*

Wherever you are Mr. R...I love you and will always remember your kindness and decency and not 'talking down to children' but rather your ability to talk on 'their level' and truly reach them.

You shall be sorely missed here on earth but I imagine heaven is happy to have you there for all the little children who never got to have a full life here on earth and need your love and guidance.

Ah heck...never mind me...I'm feeling misty...
