Where’s that apple skin?

Where’s that apple skin for desktop x, not sure who the author was, it was in the top downloads. I went to download it today and it gone. I hate it when artist remove their work, epically when it’s really good.

the skin you question was removed due to copy right issues with the logo... the author was going to remove the copy right material and re up it.

anyway, like I said, it sux, but... can't fight a Global reaching Corporation over a word, or an icon really...

just hope they don't take notice and decide to go on an extermination quest...

With Meta-spyders they can get a list of every location that the words "Apple Icons" are listed, and then take time to browse around and pick one or two out and thats enough for word to get out... i would think they would like the fact that Windows owners want it painted like a Mac

OK...perhaps every single reference to 'Apple' 'Macintosh' and 'OSX' and all derived graphics included in whole, or in part need to be totally deleted.

Perhaps absolutely NO reference or association or comparison is to be allowed.

This may very well be our near future.

Anything even vaguely 'derived' must go.

Could be a good thing....making skinners and artists actually do their own work for once instead of taking Apple's...

OMG! You mean we'll have to come with our own ideas? and graphics?

sad but also maybe very true...

It's kind of like Russian Roulette with every chamber loaded but one really.
They wouldn't even have to work hard to track back to every site posting such skins and things...

I think what they are pushing for mostly is after reading some of the stuff on the link, is for people to purchase rights to use these things. I do not know if they would do it for a site, and then that cover the skinners and such, because even if it was setup so the work is supposed to only be posted on that paticular site, it would all eventually hit the net

anyway...

mums the word

thats an admin, wizop, frogboy kinda choice thing dohicky

Yes, young Koasati...I'm afraid the golden age of skinning apples may be over....must be Pear time...

From me previous post...

why dosen't a person or group of people push apple into making a pc version of os x? that would settle everything plus give windows a run for its money. i would buy it.

Koasati

actually that is the one thing holding me up from loading SkinStudio, graphics, I am still working things out on paper to be put into paint and then into photoshop to slice up and such, so I can play with the layouts real time

I have to use structure with everything I do or I get lost in the mix and am left wondering what in the hell it is I am looking at when finished. If I loaded SkinStudio and started playing with it, it would take me weeks to recovery and get back to working out the design and graphics for anything.

oh well, Dissoid or not my attention span is either stone still or manic and bouncing all over the place. I had to ask the nurse when I went for my second nerve block in my lower back what the date was, last week. She says the 24th, and I said 24th what? she said Fen 24th and looked at me like I was stupid, and I asked, ok, what year and she about looked at me as if I was a moron or possessed
my wife was sitting in a chair about 15 feet away with her hand over her eyes head tilted down and shaking back and forth trying to conceal her giggles threatening to bust out in full blown laughter.

what the tail end of that post of mine has to do with anything... oh wait, it's becasue of the lack of structure... yeah thats the ticket !

yes it would give MS a two front pause... Linux is steam rolling up the hill at them and is probably going to do almost what NT did to Novell back in the early to mid 90's...

I mentioned on the other thread of the same topic...the difference between Microsoft images vs Apple images being used by skinners is that we are skinning for a Windows [Microsoft] platform, and NOT an Apple one.

Our work enhances or extends Microsoft's product...and I bet even Bill himself gets a chuckle seeing Apple graphics ported to his Windows OS.

The Opposite is quite clearly NOT the case. PC users/skinners are diluting the Apple product by this very same porting and there is absolutely no benefit to Apple what-so-ever, only diminished product identity.

At present, all the 'apple stuff' is merely 'tolerated'.
WHEN the Men In Suits come knocking things will change...
