Cry for help - WB XP and Skinstudio

The SkinStudio newsgroup is not very active, so I'll ask here : What can I do wrong if an assigned taskbar bitmap (visible in SkinStudio) doesn't show up when assigning the skin ? It is really a mistery for me... The weird thing is, it shows behind the tray and the startbutton. But not in the middle (free) area of the taskbar...

I'm not sure, but this sounds like a similar problem to one I had. Make sure all the elements of your taskbar (ie. the buttons, the tray, quicklaunch, start button, taskbar etc.) are the same image format. By this I mean all bitmaps or all .tga's. I don't think it works if you mix the two formats. At least that's what I was told.
Another thing that I noticed was that many skin authors only use one image for the taskbar image, even though it says it should be two images. (like the titlebar).
Try it both ways and see what happens.
I hope this helps.

Thanks I will give it another try. Is the taskbar tiled vertically ?

That happened to me with one of the alpha versions but was fixed. Perhaps that could be a clue

Thanks all, I have the solution : I didn't apply a graphic for the tray-arrow yet.
Small cause, big trouble...

The horizontal task bar should be two images next to each other. One for the taskbar when on top and one for when on bottom. Likewise for the vert taskbar. Two images tiled vertically. One for left and one for right. Just for info.
