Feedback on 1.3 and an epiphany...

So I finally got 1.3 v2 working and had a light-bulb go on. You can still adjust planets individually in this version but I committed to only using the Empire wheel and NOT specialize. This gives the game a real GCII feel. It makes getting things done MUCH harder. Things take longer and it brings the player down to the 'ai' level. I am not complaining, if anything it is making the game more challenging.

The sooner you remove individual planet specialization the better. After trying to play using JUST the empire wheel, planetary specialization feels like a huge cheating exploit. I set the wheel like i did in GCII 25 production, 25 economy and 50 research. Boy O' boy what a different game. Its different and those of us who specialized are going to go through some growing pains.

Ill update later on how the ai conducts war and invasions.

Some of the factions on the workshop seem to cause me to crash to desktop. The 'Vampirella' one is one that caused me to, I dont know why.

Does Vidz Ai warefare mod still work with 1.3 or have the improvements made make his mod not needed?

More to come...

It doesn't at all give a GC2 feel because the economic system is totally different in GC3.

What's going to happen is the top players are all going to build up their worlds identically to take advantage of the global settings.

If the goal is to prevent lock-step specialization, this idea is going to backfire badly.
