Too much text,,, Question

I am using Windows ME and IE6.

When I link over to Skinbase or Deskmod, I get this huge display of text at top of page.

I have tried various adjustments to IE prefs, but nothing helps. This also happens when I use skinbrowser when it decides to Login for me.

Is it me, or something else?

it is probably *ME* well nto me, or your but *ME* all the same

exit stage right------------------------------------------------------>zing>

seriously though, do you have WebBlinds active? If so have you turned it off and check to see if it still happens?

do you remember when you first noticed this happening, it could very well be something that changed which you might be able to track down upon figuring out when you first noticed it taking place...

just some thoughts

Thanks IPlural, I thought you would be the first to answer.

I do not use WebBlinds since I have always felt IE and or 6 seemed to be a little too touchy to begin with without adding to it.

As far as I can remember, this started about a month ago or a bit longer, but I cannot for the life of me remember making any real changes to anything other than the pref file. I have already backtracked those changes I have made and still no luck.

Me-thinks this could be a ME problem now too.

When I switch from AOL next week, I think I will clean my slate, it seems I have collected an awful amount of junk lately.

I was wondering if XP would run on 450 Mhz?

you might find something that helps with this here, also keep it handy because it is a pretty good resource online for all flavors of Windows...

Some of it is simple, but then again, much of what takes place that screws things up the worst turns out to be something simple

I am also doing some other searching, but also transferring a Outlook 2000 installation over to a new laptop and into Outlook XP, wouldn't be a bother but the person installed a 3d party mainly manager that is not XP compliant..

lol

go figure

Thanks IPlural for your help.

I will have a look at the link, but I beleive I am about due for some real changes. This computer I built was only a stop gap for me until I could really upgrade. Now I have an excuse to do so.

Maybe an XI Dual Processor Workstation would be in order, or... SOMEBODY PINCH ME QUICK!!!

I have studied tcwo quite extensively in the past along with evergreen and just about every place imaginable. But I am getting to the point where "homemade" although a good thing, is starting to get, well, OLD!

The previous link you provided does look interesting, though I am concerned since both of my HD's are dual booted with Linux.

I want to be sure for the moment that I can afford to lose one just in case.

P.S.

tcow

Thanks for the link to Maya in another thread.

I tried it over a month ago but found the restrictions almost demeaning, so I tossed it out. This is a holdover from my Mac days when all I had was shareware to use, and got fed up with being teased, knowing I couldn't afford to buy stuff for that machine.

Well...

tcwo it is, and rather interesting place.

I'll be back, must visit this place

That was a nice site IPlural, but again it is more of the same for me.
I have spent too much time fixing junk piles, though I have been lucky that my expenses were kept quite low.
However I am at the stage now where my money would be better spent on a new machine with all the fixin's.
Can you spare a dime mister?

tink Dell or Gateway

top support, and if it can't be fixed over the phone they will bring out a swapper, takes yours back fix it and return it good as new, hardware wise...

I wouldn't touch a Compaq now that, ack HP is involved...

HP servers rock, but man those DTops suck..

oh SGI has dropped way down with some lower pricing also...

and MAC of course

Ohhh... SGI, Mac, drool indeed.
I am looking towards Dell. Gateway is nice, but I dunno, I visited one of their stores and all I got was a holier than thou attitude when I mentioned how fuzzy the text was on one of their LCD's.

I'll never go back unless they want to assuage their guilt with a free top of the line piece of hardware

Dell works, I've turned my family to Dell and have had a chance to let my hair grow back out
