Windows Blinds/Desktop text

(Running XP:Home)
I'm new to skining my desktop. I installed a skin for windows blinds. And put a matching back ground with it which is mainly black.

My text bellow icons on my desktop was black so I changed 'display properties' /desktop/colour to black and it made the text white again, how i wanted. But every time i restart my pc it gets rid of my change and makes the text black again.

What do I do?

Try setting it the way you want to then logging off, instead of shutting down.

When you log off Windows saves alot of settings that are otherwise lost. I know this works for other problems, not sure about this one. Give it a try.

unload windowblinds, change to classic mode, set your background color, turn on display web content, pick a light background, logout so the settings are saved into registry, log back in, load display properties, go to apperance, pick a windoblinds skin and load it, make sure the correct wallpaper is being used, make sure windoblinds is set to load at startup, log out, log in and see if it holds...

windows it self automatically switches back to classic mode anytime the apperance settings are changed, so if you set your classic mode properties it should automatically go back to that specific configuration you set and saved by loging out...

worth an attempt, hope it works for you...
