First time user

OK, How do I install anything using WinXP. I click on it to download, then open, and nothing happens. What could I be doing wrong?

Do you have what is neccisary to run what your clicking on?
maybe a program is needed.

what file type is it?

Also note that if your using XP you must have administrative rights to install anything. A basic user account is not good enough. So if your not logged into the original account that was setup when XP first was installed you can not run a setup of any prog. Unless admin rights have been assigned your user account.
