Start10 Not working

Win10

I bought Start10 (beta) along with ObjectDock a while ago and upgraded to the 1.0 release of start10 when it came out.

My Windows 10 updated a day or so ago and Start10 no longer works. No matter what I set in the setting, I get the regular Win10 menu+tiles. The Start Icon does not change to the image selected.

 

I have Uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled.

Stopped and restarted the Start10 service

Completely removed Start10 and ObjectDock and restarted then re-download and reinstall from fresh.

Nothing I've tried makes it work. ObjectDock works fine except the START icon just shows the Win10 menu, and the WIN10 icon does nothing.

Manually running Start10.exe from program files does nothing.

I can run the start10 setting app and the tweaks app with no issues but nothing changes.

 

Any suggestions?

If Brad doesn't get back to you in the next day or so, I'll post the instructions here.  It sort of works now, but I have to restart the machine for it to pick up changes.

It'll probably be worth it for SD to make a knowledge base article if it's this widespread.

BazzF - Thank you for trying to share the help with others, we appreciate the effort. We would like to obtain any data from users prior to them running that guide though, so we'd rather they sent in a support ticket first. :) I have sent you some more information to try and gather any info we can about what's happening.

Not a problem.  The guide wasn't over-complex so I thought it would be OK to share the info.Apart from anything else it saes your helpdesk getting swamped with the same requests :) . Might be an idea to post it as a knowledge base article. Looking at the batch file it does basically what the uninstaller should do.

As for following up, I still have the issue that it won't change dynamically - it requires a changing whatever, then doing a restart.

I really wish you would have let the support info stand. You might like to get our info -- I just want a solution. A more customer-centric approach would have been to post the solution.
